Highly sensitive people covet profound and vivid emotions, which indicates extreme passion and intuition. Emotional depth usually peeks at an early age – the personage is contrived to spend most of their life absorbing the emotional energy of others. Often referred to as an empath, your sharp intuition can make you inexhaustibly perceptive. On the other hand, high- intensity or emotional stress has the power to impact physical and emotional well-being.

Leaders who sense and/or feel more than the average person truly believe that all people deserve to be loved and understood.  But, here’s the key! Highly emotionally – intensive leaders have to get the balance right. For instance, when dealing with things like micro-aggression and conflict, or even making challenging decisions, in the workplace, it is vital that you garner plenty of motivation to subside the unwanted actions and behaviors. Be sure to demonstrate empathy at the right times to inform the best outcomes.

As a notable commander, it is absolutely important to consider the emotional impact of your employees’ work, not just measurable indicators of their performance. However, don’t be discouraged by the profound iron fist that is emotional depth. Your rich inner world seemingly manifests complexity in most aspects of life; feeling completely absorbed by the concern for a broader world. Empathy is not solely for the vulnerable and your exclusively intense soul grants you a meaningful existence. You are probably wondering how one balances the expectations and obligations of leadership  (complex reality) with a zest for life and humanity!

 

BALANCING INTENSITY

Firstly, you must be able to get the balance right! Consistently balancing the intensity of emotions ensures a positive mental contented state. When leaders are able to get the balance of pleasant and unpleasant feelings right, they are better able to manage the magnitude of elevated emotional responses in any given circumstances.

It is important to note here; the highest degree of emotional weightiness is referred to as the Climax. Because an empath lives with deep sensitivity and empathy, emotional self-control is critical. Let’s face it, leaders are inclined to deal with so much in the workplace on a daily basis. If you are emotionally intelligent, embrace your highly-perceptive and creative self, remain calm and clear-headed during those stressful situations to balance the emotional intensity.
